YouTube API User Data Policy

“HIMS BrailleSense Video Search” (the app) is a downloadable software that runs on a user’s BrailleSense and uses YouTube Application Program Interface (API) Services. You can find out more about BrailleSense at https://www.himsintl.com/en/index.php.
The App is developed by SELVAS Healthcare, Inc. – a company incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Korea. You can find out more about SELVAS Healthcare, Inc. at https://www.himsintl.com/en/company/intro.php.
SELVAS Healthcare, Inc. has obtained authorized client credentials for the App to access YouTube Analytics data via YouTube Data API Services and YouTube Analytics API Services. SELVAS Healthcare, Inc. keeps these credentials confidential.
Specific Use of Google User Data:
- Authentication and Access:
- To verify user identity and maintain secure access to YouTube services.
- To establish and maintain the connection between the user's BrailleSense device and YouTube.
- Core Functionality:
- To enable users to search and browse YouTube videos on their BrailleSense device.
- To display relevant video information in an accessible format.
- To facilitate video playback through the YouTube platform.
- User Experience:
- To provide personalized access to the user's YouTube channel content.
- To maintain user session information during app usage.
Google User Data Accessed by the App:
- Google Account Data:
- Profile Information: Includes basic profile details (e.g., name, email) used for authentication purposes.
- OpenID: Utilized to authenticate the YouTube account using the OAuth 2.0 mechanism.
- YouTube Account Data:
- Channel Name: Accessed to display the user's YouTube channel within the app.
- List of Videos: Includes video names and thumbnails, allowing the user to choose videos from their YouTube channel.
- Data Encryption: Google user data is protected using industry-standard encryption during both transmission and storage. This ensures that the data is secure and minimizes the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.
- Access Control: Access to Google user data is strictly controlled and limited to authenticated users only. Additionally, the OAuth 2.0 authentication mechanism enhances security by ensuring that only authorized access is permitted.
- Data Retention: Google user data is retained only for as long as it is necessary to provide the core functionality of the app. The app does not retain Google user data longer than needed for its intended purposes.
- Data Deletion: When the user no longer uses the app or revokes its access to their Google account, all Google user data is securely deleted from the device. The app does not store data persistently, and any temporary data is removed immediately upon termination of use.
- Data Sharing: The app does not share Google user data with any third parties.
- Data Transfer: The app does not transfer Google user data to any external servers or third-party entities, except as necessary to provide or improve the app’s functionality. No data is transferred for any other purpose.
- Data Disclosure: The app does not disclose Google user data to any external parties, individuals, or organizations, except as required to enable the app’s features or improve its functionality.
- Data Sale: The app does not sell Google user data to any third parties under any circumstances.
The app accesses this data solely for the purpose of enabling its core functionalities. The data does not leave the user’s device, is not stored persistently on the BrailleSense device, and is not transferred to third parties or used for serving advertisements.

If you decide to revoke access of the App to your YouTube account you may use “3rd Party Access” page of your Google Account located at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
